Job Description for Senior Data Scientist

About this position:

Reporting to the Data Science Manager, the Senior Data Scientist will be a key member of Aptiv Connected Services’ Data Science team. The team supports the Product Development, Product Management, and Customer Success teams by using advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques to build models and other data products to generate business insights for our customers.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work as part of our centralized data science team, engaging and interacting with multiple functional areas within the organization.
• Process, manipulate, and explore large engineering and operational data sets across a range of platforms to uncover trends, generate insights, identify anomalies, and train models.
• Work in concert with product leadership and subject matter experts to identify and develop analytics solutions to enhance our product offerings and solve business problems.
• Support the MLOps, data engineering, and product teams to productionize and deploy scalable models and solutions on our cloud and edge platforms.

Minimum Requirements:

• University degree in data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or similar.
• Expertise in Python and data science related libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, Dask, PySpark, Keras, and TensorFlow.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases and knowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Experience doing data science work in cloud environments.
• Some experience deploying predictive models and machine learning algorithms into production environments.
• Knowledge of and/or experience in the automotive engineering industry is a plus but not required.
• Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills.
• A passion for working with data and using it to solve problems.
