Job Description for Automation Developer (Electronics)

The aim of this positionis developing electronics solutions in the area of automation for APTIV internal projects. You will be asked to develop electronics hardware/software from scratch, be responsible for researching, designing, building, and maintaining systems and applications. To be successful as an Electronics Automation Developer you should be technically-oriented and enjoy solving complex challenges. Ultimately, a top-notch developer should be innovative, open-minded, and an excellent troubleshooter.

Your role:

• Liaise with internal clients to discuss theirelectronicprojectneeds;
• Drawingelectronicschematics to demonstrate how processes will work;
• Developing and installing machine programs using automation software and custom coding languages;
• Reading, writing, analyzing and interpreting technical procedures and schematics;
• Defining problems, collecting data, and deducing facts and conclusions;
• Programming Electronics and/or PLC and/or Robotics systems;
• Determining machine automation test criteria before the final installation;
• Researching, developing, and maintaining automation systems and components;
• Overseeing the successful installation of programs;
• Testing automated systems for efficiency, safety, and reliability;
• Troubleshooting system errors;
• Documenting development processes;
• Provide technical support.

Requirements:

• Electronics technical certification;
• Detailed knowledge of Electronics program software and coding languages;
• Work experience as a developer preferred;
• Electrical and Mechanical engineering experience desirable;
• Knowledge of manufacturing and mechanical processes desirable;
• Knowledge in CAD, AutoCAD or Virtualization software desirable;
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
